How Do You REALLY Make Traffic Exchange Work??
by: Tim Fulcher
Understanding The Importance Of Traffic
The first and most vital thing to understand about marketing your website
is that you need lots and lots of traffic. There are various ways to get
traffic to your site, however here we are concerned with Traffic Exchange
Traffic
Website Traffic is, in the main a numbers game i.e. the more traffic you
get to your site, the more sales you will achieve. Its a bit like the scatter
gun approach. If you are a machine gunner in an outpost on the beach and
you see swarms of invaders coming towards land, you dont aim at any one in
particular, you just move your machine gun roughly in the direction of where
the enemy is and let fly with the trigger!!. Its the same idea with traffic
to your website
It doesnt pay to be too choosy as to who comes to your website. All you want
is stacks and stacks of people. Eventually, sooner or later someone will
buy something. Of course if you are not getting much traffic then selling
anything will be a pretty hopeless task
The key is volume. Most commercial sites buy traffic in blocks of 10,000
hits, and no one would think of measuring an advertising campaign on less
than the same number. So the important thing for a new website is to get
lots and lots of traffic, from absolutely anywhere
How Traffic Has A Spin-off For Search Engines
Among the many things that a Search Emgine will look at when assessing your
sites ranking is how much traffic you are getting. If you site hardly gets
a visitor, as will be the case with most new sites, then it is hardly worth
having such a site in the database. If next to no-one is going to your site,
then it obviously cant be a very good or worthwhile site - at least thats
how the Search Engines look at it. Remember there are billions of sites,
and the number is doubling every 4-6 months, so a Search Engine just cant
afford to have you in the database if you get next to no visitors
This argument also works the other way round. If you are getting lots of
traffic, the Search Engines have absolutely no idea where the traffic is
coming from. So they dont know that it all came from a Traffic Exchange,
or a Safelist, or an Classified Ad site etc. But they do know that you are
in the top 100,000 out of all websites for traffic so therefore they cant
possibly leave such a popular site out of the Search results
Another very important spin off with lots of Traffic is that other webmasters
who are always on the look out for new link partners will be looking up on
the alexa rankings what sites are listed as being in the top 500,000 or even
top million. If these sites are getting good traffic then it would pay to
get a link exchange with them and get some extra traffic that way
Traffic Exchange Strategies
Using Traffic Exchanges to the best advantage is really very simple. You
simply surf anything up to 11 exchanges at once with a tabbed browser like
Mozilla Firefox. You can download Mozilla firefox free from Mozilla Download
Site
Tabbed browsing has become more and more popular, and its ideal for surfing
multiple exchanges at once because you are viewing eveything in the one browser,
although you have multiple "tabs" open. It should be clear straightaway that
you will earn far more visitors and potentially far more sales by surfing
multiple exchanges at once. It is quite easy to stack upto 2,000 hits a day
using this method
The trick is that there are a clutch of Traffic Exchanges that are the best
of the best. These are listed as in the Top 50,000 out of all websites. You
can see these listed at
http://www.traffic-exchange-monitoring.com.
These exchanges have the most different people clicking per day and therefore
you hits will be going to lots of different people as you surf. Many of these
exchanges have memberships of over 50,000 and some over 100,000. So you will
avoid the problem of all your sites going to the same people
By concentrating on these exchanges you will also get the highest possible
"uniques" i.e. the percentage of people who have only seen your sites once
in 24hrs will be very high
What About All The Other Traffic Exchanges?
The other Traffic Exchanges that are not in the top 50,000 out of all websites,
should be used more sparingly. This is fine in our strategy because there
are anything up to 100 good exchanges alltogether. My suggestion for these
exchanges is to surf daily up to 11 exchanges at once until you have earned
20-30 credits on these other exchanges. You should manage this in about 20
min surfing. When you have finished you can then switch to another group
of 11 exchanges, and repeat the process for as long as you have got. Some
people do this for several hours every day and get thousands of free visitors
I would recommend that you save the login pages of each traffic exchange
in a separate folder, and put up to 11 exchanges in each folder. Mozilla
has a really good option in the bookmarks section where you can choose to
open up all bookmarks with one click. This means you can start your surfing
session of real quick. Mozilla also allows you to remember you passwords
and set a master password so that other people cant find out what your passwords
are
Downloading Mozilla's Extensions
Mozilla Firefox is a really good browser because the code that makes it work
is open source. This means just about anyone can add all sorts of extensions
to the browser to make it work even better. A couple of good extensions I
would recomment you try is "Faster Firefox" which loads the pages even faster
than normal and another one which changes the colors for each of the tabs.
You can have a different color for each tab and this makes it easier to keep
track of where you are
Warnings
When using a Traffic Exchange you must always be aware that virus and malicious
sites might be out there. Most Traffic Exchanges will ban them when they
find out, but that might be too late for your machine!! So always have a
good virus problem running, ideally in the background all the time so that
should anyone try anything you will get an immediate alert requesting you
to delete the virus concerned
Mozilla Firefox also has a really good device to help you in that there is
an option to requre confirmation everytime any software is attempted to be
downloaded onto your computer. I would strongly urge that you unclick the
box that says "allow websites to download softare"
You will need to be careful if your computer hasnt got much memory or you
havent got a broadband connection. If you try and surf too many windows at
once you computer will just crash and you will have to restart. At first
its a good idea to try and surf 4 or 5 tabs at once and see how you go. Gradually
you can get more memory and/or upgrade your connection speed and increase
the number of tabs to 10 or 11 with ease
